Why Clean Your Septic Tanks and Aerobic Unit?

Cleaning of your Septic tanks or Aerobic System is “Preventive Maintenance” just as changing the oil in your car is vital to the life of your vehicle.  So is the process of cleaning your tanks keeping solids from migrating to the fieldlines in a conventional system causing clogs or ultimately the demise of the fieldline and costly repairs.  The same is true of the Aerobic Unit allowing solids to migrate to and through the pump will result in costly repairs in the way of pump replacement.  Also, included in the tanks needing this preventive maintenance is grease traps; grease is a major contributor to the failure of septic systems.

Our recommendations for scheduling the cleaning are for families of more than 2 persons every 2 years and 2 or less every 3 years.  More frequent pump outs may be required in certain circumstances.  I.e. frequent use of garbage disposals.
